Fund raising at Seagry pre-school

Seagry pre-school is a registered charity (Number 1028001) and we thank and appreciate our supporters for all their efforts.
This page will cover both upcoming events and also report on events and efforts past. If you have any ideas for new ways of fund-raising then please let the committee know as the pre-school takes a lot of money to keep it going and its equipment fresh.

easyfundraising.org.uk

All you need to do is visit easyfundraising.org.uk and register selecting Seagry Pre-school. Why not raise funds for us making purchases you would make anyway?

Sponsored Toddle

In July 2006 we held a sponsored walk in John Coles Park, Chippenham to raise money for both the pre-school and The Bristol Children's Hospital.

Two of our children, Thomas and Joseph, had life saving open heart surgery at the hospital and this walk was our way of saying thank-you as well as raising money for the pre-school too.

Chippenham Mayor, Maureen Lloyd

We were joined on the walk by the Mayor of Chippenham Maureen Lloyd who shared her memories of the park with us as well as playing with the children. Neil and Christine Hamilton also joined us on the walk and had a lot of fun playing with the children and learning about both the pre-school and the Children's Hospital. We are grateful for the support shown to us by both the Mayor and the Hamiltons and we're proud to announce that we raised over £1,400.

The children all wore tee-shirts that they had designed and made themselves, they even made all of our staff tee-shirts too.

Bank of New York award the Pre-School £700

Bank of New York's Swindon director, Martin
Fisher, presents Sue Reynolds (and Thomas)
with a cheque for £700
On the 13th of December 2005 Sue Reynolds (along with her sons) attended a cheque presentation at the Bank of New York's offices in Swindon. The Bank of New York's charity committee had £10,000 to disperse as a result of fund-raising by their staff during 2005 and we applied for £700 to cover the cost of new role-playing equipment. We were delighted to be awarded the full amount that we applied for and Sally is looking forward to the shopping trip. Our thanks go the the Bank of New York's staff and charity committee for their grant - it will make a huge difference.

Other grants

We received a grant of £500 from the Co-op, thank you very much indeed.

In 2005 we received £200 from GWR, £875 from the Lloyds TSB foundation and £430 from North Wiltshire District Council.

In December 2004 we received £4,990 from Awards for All for the purchase of lots of great new equipment such as tables, chairs, computer, tray unit and reading corner. This grant has helped to transfrom the pre-school.
