Change of venue for the fundraising meeting

The New Inn at Seagry cannot accommodate us on November 8th for our meeting so the meeting will now be held at The Plough, Kington Langley at 8pm. The Plough is just off the A350 with easy parking and hopefully a good location for everyone. We hope to see you there!

We are holding a fundraising meeting on 8 November at 8pm at the New Inn, Seagry so that we can plan our fundraising activities for 2011/12. Please come along and help us organise some fun activities to raise money for the pre-school.

We would like to welcome our new committee members and thank them for filling the three vital roles of chair (Laura Lafave), treasurer (Andrew Marriage) and secretary (Rachel Brown). We hope you all enjoy having an active role in the running of the pre-school. We would also like to thank the following general members who are staying on the committee for a further year (Sarah Ferris, Helen Owen, Katy Carr, Ali Harvey and, of course, our supervisor, Sally Lewis).

French fun

Starting from mid-September, Monsieur Mike will be teaching the children French once a fortnight on a Tuesday.

Seagry Pre-school AGM - 26 September

We are holding our AGM at the pre-school on September 26th at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. The pre-school is run by a committee of volunteers and we are currently looking to fill quite a few places on the committee. We would especially like to hear from you if you have some spare time and would like to help run the pre-school.

Seagry Pre-School awarded £2000 grant

The children have all been very excited to see the arrival of lots of new outdoor equipment which arrived in March. Many thanks to Sally for all her hard work applying for the £2000 grant from 'Awards for All'. The new equipment includes a willow teppee, a beautiful wooden story chair, a trampoline as well as a large metal storage unit.

PSLA Accreditation

In addition to being judged as Outstanding by Ofsted, the pre-school is very excited to have attained the Pre-school Learning Alliance’s highest accreditation. It has involved a lot of hard work and has been a great challenge. The accreditation is a tribute to the professionalism and commitment of our staff and parent helpers including former deputy supervisor, Dawn Spreadbury and former chair, Sue McDonald.

Seagry Pre-School Awarded "Outstanding" Rating by Ofsted

In the Autumn term of 2009 the Pre-School was awarded the highly sought after rating of ”Outstanding” by Ofsted. This means that Seagry is one of the top 5% of pre-schools in England that are judged to be Outstanding.

Sally Lewis, Supervisor at the pre-school, said ”I am absolutely delighted with the outcome given by Ofsted, which recognizes all the hard work and commitment put in by the staff and parents at the pre-school. We are a very strong team who are committed to delivering a top quality provision.”

The parents are all thrilled with the news and would like to thank the staff - Sally Lewis, Cora Wright and Jo Dodd for the caring and stimulating environment they provide. ”The staff work tirelessly to provide the children with the very best start outside the home in a warm, fun and nurturing environment. We all know that Seagry pre-school is outstanding, but it is great to have it recognized by such an important body. It is a great accolade and we are so proud of our pre-school.” Lewis’ mum.
