Rising fives
For our children leaving us to go to school we run a Rising Fives session in the summer term
which is intended to assist them in the transition. We assist with their writing and pen control by tracing over shapes and
letters for example and we work with numbers.
Depending on the number of children we have leaving the session is run within normal pre-school
hours (if there are only a few leavers) or is tagged onto the end running to 1:10pm for
which we make a small charge to cover additional costs.
Lunch club
With effect from September 2006 we are pleased to announce that we are able to offer a lunch club which will run to 1:10pm.
We have received a grant from the Local Area Network to help us set this facility up and the initial fee charged will be nominal at £1.50.
It is quite often slow to be taken up but it is designed to encourage your child to be comfortable eating and talking with members outside of the immediate
family circle and we ask that you provide them with a healthy pack lunch to participate.
Alexander technique
Sally, Dawn and Cora have recently been on a course to learn about the Alexander Technique following a successful
introduction to the children by Sue Stewart. The Alexander Technique deals with being aware of movment, posture and balance
in everyday life and was found to be a relaxing influence on the children.
The ladies are looking forward to using their new found skills which may be included in the sessions from time to time.

Mobile Library
We are pleased to announce that the mobile library will be coming to the Pre-School on alternate Tuesdays 9.35am till 9.50am
